Sad as it is, this is not the first time nor - likely - will it be the last.
The world will never be Judenrein...fortunately. If you want to see a wonderfully Michiavellian take on the withdrawal from Gaza as slick strategy, read the comment left on my post on the Gaza withdrawal. Look for one of the comments by Wild Bill -- I've been thinking about it since he first proposed the notion that Sharon might have something up his sleeve. See here:

BTW, you might be interested in the post itself, which compares two authorative voices in their views on this event. One is more optimistic than the other. The comments add some further perspective.
